Annual Service Checklist
- Combustion analysis: verify burner efficiency and CO levels
- Heat exchanger inspection: cracks can allow combustion gases into occupied spaces
- Gas valve and pressure check
- Igniter and flame sensor cleaning
- Limit control and safety relay testing
- Fan motor lubrication and amp draw
- Vent pipe inspection for blockage or corrosion
Carbon Monoxide Risk
Cracked heat exchangers are a serious safety hazard. If a unit heater has not been serviced in over two years, or if occupants report headaches or unusual odors, have it inspected immediately.
